Serial Space
Founded in early 2008 by Louise Dibben and Tameka Carter, Serial Space was an Artist Run Initiative dedicated to supporting the development and presentation of interdisciplinary and hybrid art practices providing a platform for artists undertaking ambitious and experimental projects. The space was then run by Alex White, Tom Smith, Fred Rodrigues, Kate Blackmore, Marian Tubbs, Pia van Gelder and Fran Barrett.Serial Space’s programming included on-site developments, gallery shows, workshops, performance and sound events, artist talks and academic conferences, artistic professional development and creative exchange and was one of the only spaces in Sydney that had a strong commitment to fluid and live forms such as sound art, experimental music, electronic art, new media art, and performance art. Serial Space aimed to support non-traditional practices and artists/collaborative groups who undertook ambitious, non-commercial projects.
